Dr. Jeff Zimmerman will speak about common ethical dilemmas and vulnerabilities for therapists in private practice. He will particularly focus on procedures for truly getting informed consent before releasing information, and practicing within one’s scope, especially when building a niche practice or when starting out in practice and dealing with high risk situations around divorce.

  • Describe common ethical pitfalls when working with individuals, couples and children of divorce

Jeff Zimmerman Ph.D., ABPP is co-author of “Ethics of Private Practice” with Drs. Jeffrey Barnett and Steven Walfish. He has been in independent practice for over 30 years, having built niche practices and run an multidisciplinary mental health practice for 22 years. He has worked in and out of managed care, and is a founding partner of The Practice Institute.
