2025 Editor’s Column 60(2)

Zoe Ross-Nash, PsyD
April 9, 2025

Happy Spring, SAP!
Welcome to Psychotherapy Bulletin 60(2). We have a wide range of articles featured in this volume, ranging from eating disorders in pregnant women to psychedelic-assisted group psychotherapy. We also have a special feature related to healthcare workers and mental health.
For our newer members, the website and the Psychotherapy Bulletin merged back in January 2024. Dr. Amy Ellis and I created an entirely new organizational flow to improve the quality and timeliness of this already outstanding publication. After getting a better understanding of our needs, we have decided to change our publication review process that I would like to highlight here. Our associate editor has not only maintained but enhanced the quality of every article you read in these issues as she expertly collaborates with our wonderful authors. Since the merge, we have received double the number of articles with half the number of associate editors. Consequently, we have changed our 2-week review period to a 4-week review period. This change is detailed under “Review Process” when you click the “Write for Us” link.
Additionally, the free student member initiative was wildly successful. We had over 500 applications! Your application will be reviewed in the order in which it was received and we thank you for your patience.
Be on the lookout for our call for submissions, we encourage articles related to military communities, LGBT+ topics, and political subjects this quarter but, as always, welcome submissions on any topic. Click here for our submission guidelines!
Additionally, thank you Dr. Ronald Levant for being featured in our SAP’s “Who’s Who.” Dr. Danny Wedding and Dr. Susan Heitler will be featured in April and June, respectively. Click here to see all our “Who’s Who”. We welcome all folks to email me at editor@societyforpsychotherapy.org if you would like to be featured!
I wanted to congratulate the members of the Electronic Communications team. Our Assistant Editor of Website Content, Sarah Bondy, successfully matched for her pre-doctoral internship back in February. Our Associate Editor, Lacy Sohn, and Assistant Editor of Newsletters, Deanna Young, have both secured post-doctoral residencies and are set to graduate in the next few months! We also want to congratulate our Social Media Coordinator, Amanda Conway, for a successful first quarter.
Best,
