We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy is a nonprofit membership organization. We have never sold personal information, we do not sell it now, and we have no plans to.
We also do not "share" personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act — that is, we do not disclose it to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We run no advertising on this site, and we do not use analytics data for remarketing.
What We Do Instead
We use the information you give us only to run the Society: to process membership applications, deliver the eBulletin you asked for, publish the articles you submit, and respond when you contact us. We disclose it only to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, each of whom is contractually restricted to processing it on our behalf and prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
Opt-Out Preference Signals
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by browsers and extensions that support it. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no opt-out is necessary — but the signal is respected.
Your Other Rights
Even though there is no sale to opt out of, you retain the right to know, delete, and correct the personal information we hold. California residents can find full details in our CCPA Privacy Notice. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland should see our GDPR Notice.
