Dr. Winkelman is the Director of Professional Affairs at the California Psychological Association. In this role, she provides consultations and resources to CPA members on issues relating to recordkeeping, confidentiality, telepsychology, mandated reporting, and other standards of professional conduct. She also provides research and advocacy on laws and regulations that affect mental health professionals. Prior to joining the CPA staff, Dr. Winkelman worked at the American Psychological Association for many years, where she most recently served as Director of Legal and Professional Affairs. Dr. Winkelman earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from The New School for Social Research and a JD from Columbia University School of Law. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy in New York City and an APA Congressional Fellowship in Washington, DC.
