Jason Luoma, Ph.D. is Director of Portland Psychotherapy Clinic, Research, and Training Center, a research and training clinic based on a social enterprise model that uses business revenue to fund substantial and ongoing research activities. As a researcher, Dr. Luoma studies shame, self-criticism, stigma, and the interpersonal effects of emotion, and published the first randomized trial of an intervention focused on helping people with shame in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. He is also internationally recognized trainer in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, former chair of the ACT training committee, and past president of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
