Dr. Matthew Skinta is a board certified clinical health psychologist with a private practice in San Francisco, CA. He has worked in and out of academia in both research and clinical settings, and currently spends much of his time researching, writing, and training contextual behavioral approaches to clinical work with gender and sexual minority clients. He is a peer-reviewed trainer of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and a certified therapist and trainer of Functional Analytic Psychotherapy. Dr. Skinta is currently a member of the APA Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity, and was previously a member and chair of the APA ad hoc Committee on Psychology & AIDS.
