Dennis Portnoy is a psychotherapist in private practice for over thirty years. In addition to giving presentations for health professionals, Dennis is the author of OVER-EXTENDED AND UNDERNOURISHED: A Self-care Guide for People in Helping Roles. His most recent book is THE INTRINSIC SELF: How Defining yourself and Measuring your Worth by your Achievements and Usefulness is Undermining your Happiness and Serenity. His articles have appeared in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology, Hospital Magazine, Unity Magazine, The Therapist, Bottom Line, and The Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care.
